Mt Juliet, TN is located just outside of Nashville on the western edge of Wilson County.  Mt Juliet has quick access to Nashville on Interstate 40 and Highway 70.  Only 20 miles from downtown Nashville, it is easy to see why so many people have relocated here recently. 

The city was founded in 1835 and then incorporated in 1972.  Most people claim the town was named after Mount Juliet Estate in Ireland, which is now a resort hotel with one of Ireland’s Best Courses.  Some think the town is named after Julia Gleaves, who was known for helping those in need.  There is only one town named Mt Juliet in the United States.

Things to Do in Mt Juliet TN

The Music City Star, Nashville’s only Passenger Rail System, has a station in the middle of the route at 22 East Division St in Mt Juliet with more than 200 parking spaces.  The Music City Star serves Downtown Nashville at one end and Lebanon at the other.   It is great if you commute downtown daily, going to a Titans game or headed to the Wilson County Fair. 

The Wilson County Fair, with more that 500,000 people attending annually, is the largest county fair in Tennessee and one of the largest in the nation. The fair has something for everyone including a huge midway, competitions, exhibits, music, attractions and top notch entertainment.

Those in need of retail therapy in Mt Juliet quickly head to Providence Marketplace.  Located on Mt Juliet Road just south of the interstate; Providence offers an abundance of shopping, dining and entertainment options. 

With one stop at Providence you could purchase groceries, fashionable clothing, top end electronics, household goods, your favorite book and a soccer ball.  When the shopping is done do not forget to catch the latest movie and dinner at one of eighteen restaurants.  Dinner options range from quick and casual to fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere.

If you enjoy the lake life, Mt Juliet is right in the middle of it.  With Old Hickory Lake to the north and Percy Priest Lake to the south, you are never far from fun on the water.  The city’s official slogan is “The City Between the Lakes.”  What most people love about Mt Juliet, you are never far from anywhere.
