Would this problem be a deal killer for you?
I was reading a story the other day about a home buyer with this problem.
She and her husband had been looking for homes for a long time. They finally found the perfect home.
It was exactly what she wanted when she pulled up to the curb. It was the kind of home that brightened up the neighborhood and made you feel welcome as you approached the front door.
Then when she got inside, it was love at first sight.
Everything was perfect. The home, the price, the lovely neighborhood.
Except…
It was right across the street from her Mother-In-Law [MIL].
(Nothing agains MILs. I am blessed to have two of the best.)
And this lady loved her MIL, however, she was having second thoughts because of the relationship between her husband and his mother.
And this story made me think about the old saying concerning the three most important factors in real estate: Location, Location, Location.
And I wondered what people look for in an ideal location.
Here are a few things that I’ve heard recently.
1. A quiet area
2. Safety
3. Good schools
4. Within walking distance of work, schools, shops and more
5. Close to hospital
6. No flood zone
7. Access to major thoroughfare
8. Corner lot
9. North/South facing
10. Close to work
11. Away from noise and pollution
12. Well run municipality
13. Borders on green space
14. Not on busy road
15. Neighborhood upkeep
16. Private
17. Walkability
18. No railroads
19. No large apartment complexes nearby
20. No barking dogs
Part of the beauty of being human is that we don’t all see things the same way.
So, I’d love to hear your thoughts on what makes a good location to live.
And what are your location “Deal Killers?”
