Why I became a Realtor (and it's not what you think)

Why I became a realtorIf you’ve heard me talk about my start in real estate, you probably heard me say it had to do with the opportunity that I saw in selling bank-owned homes.

This opportunity was not the reason “Why” I decided to become a Realtor, it was simply my vehicle for entering the real estate industry in a way that made sense for me.

I decided to become a Realtor, for the same reasons that have motivated me since my first “real” job at 15 years old.

First, I love a new challenge.  Every piece of property that I help you buy or sell is a new project that comes with its own set of obstacles, roadblocks and hurdles.   Real estate is like a giant puzzle that you have to take apart and put back together the right way to get to the closing table.  Challenges like this keep you on your toes, are like exercise for your brain and exhilarating when completed.

Second, over the years I’ve discovered that I thrive in an environment where I am involved both in the operations and sales of an organization.  This may be due to my affinity for new projects.  I like being able to see it from the start and carry it to completion.  This is one of the reasons why I do not use a contract to close person.  Instead of handing off the file to someone else to get it to the closing table, I’d rather walk with you through that process.

Last, and most important, I love people.  The most joy that I get in a day is educating and helping others achieve their goals.  The best part is when I get to hand the proceeds check to a seller or a set of keys to a buyer.  That is like standing in the winner’s circle for me.

That’s enough about me for today…

I’d love to know the reason why you do what you do.  Talk to you soon!
