What happens when you're not afraid to say yes
This day was going to be exciting. Simone and her classmates were set to visit a ranch just outside of Houston, Texas. Due to an oppressive heatwave, that trip was cancelled.
So as not to disappoint the kids, they were taken to Bannon’s Gymnastic where they could enjoy the day indoors.
Inspired by the gymnastic tricks she saw that day, Simone copied the moves of the other gymnasts and caught the eye of the coaches that day. They asked her if she wanted to join and learn to tumble.
She said, “Yes!” and they sent her home with a note from the coaches to her parents.
The coaches and trainers saw something special that day in Spring, TX.
Since then, Simone Biles has done nothing but prove them right.
Over the last three years, Simone has dominated the sport of gymnastics like no other in history. Domination might be an understatement for Simone. I would put her in the same category as Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Serena Williams, Wayne Gretzky and Michael Phelps.
She will be remembered as one of the greatest athletes of all-time.
Some folks think that these “happy accidents” are just a coincidence and that they aren’t that lucky.
I don’t see them that way because I think they happen to all of us at some point in our life.
You’ve probably experienced that moment of serendipity too. When everything magically fell into place and just felt right.
These points are like wake up calls where we need to act now or risk losing them forever.
So the next time synchronicity shines it’s light on you, remember the story of Simone Biles and don’t be afraid to follow your dreams.
You never know where they might lead you.
