Should I Stay or Should I Go?
We’ve all had to make tough choices in life.
These choices are usually something big and something that really matters to you, like which career to have, who to marry and where should you live.
When both choices have their merits and neither is better overall, it gets hard. It can be so hard, that we agonize over the decision, or worse get paralyzed by fear.
Hard choices are not hard because of our ignorance; they are hard because there is no obvious right answer. At least for the things we can measure, like the amount of money we will make or the opportunities for advancement.
There are some parts to the decision equation that cannot be quantified.
Like those things which we hold closest to our heart, our values.
It’s impossible to put a number on values like Love, Kindness and Respect.
When we choose between options that seem equal, it presents a wonderful opportunity. Instead of agonizing over the data and beating your head into a wall, take a minute to look inside your heart. Ask yourself these questions.
Who Do I Really Want To Be?
What Do I Want My Story to Say?
Which Choice Can I Stand Behind Wholeheartedly?
Start with the end in mind and work your way back to the answer.
Instead of dreading these hard decisions, look at them as opportunities to become the people we were meant to be.
If you are facing a tough decision and need some validation or just someone to listen, let me know.
