RealtyTrac is reporting that foreclosure activity across the nation is down 29% for the first half of 2011 as compared to the same period in 2010. Foreclosure activity is also down 25% for the first six months of 2011 as compared to the last half of 2010. All foreclosure filings are measured including notice of defaults, auction notices and bank repossession. These are some of the lowest numbers since 2007.
Tennessee has 1 in every 949 homes in some state of foreclosure. Nashville had 275 foreclosure filings in June 2011 or one in every 1037 homes. The average sales price for foreclosures in Tennessee is $100,857.
