In tough times, this is all that matters
This is a good story.
A young lady was complaining to her father about the struggle we all face called life. And how she was tired of the constant fighting.
The dad tried to share his wisdom about dealing with adversity, but she didn’t want to hear it. So, he took her to the kitchen.
He put three pots on the stove and filled each one with water. As they began to boil, he added a potato in the first pot, an egg in the second pot and ground coffee beans in the third. The dad asked his daughter to see how each one reacted to the boiling water.
She noticed the potato started out strong and hard. Under the relentless heat, the spud turned soft and weak.
And, the egg started out delicate with a thin skin of protection on the exterior. When it faced the fire, it became hard on the inside.
The ground coffee beans were different. They started out extremely vulnerable as they were found into tiny bits. Then this happened. They combined with the water to make something very good.
We are all going to get hit with tough times and bad breaks. There is nothing that you can do to stop it.
The only thing you can control (and that matters to you) is how you respond.
Few things in this world are as stressful as moving. The best way to reduce the pressure is to educate yourself about the potential obstacles and have a plan to deal with them. That’s where Gretchen and I are here to help you.
