Here's Where Tyson Found His Fury
It was 1988 in Manchester England, and the doctors feared he was too weak to live. He was born 3 months premature and only weighed 1 pound.
As his father gazed down at the boy, he saw something that they did not.
His fighting spirit.
He told the doctors that the boy would be Ok. He said that the boy would grow to 7 ft tall, 20 stone and be the heavyweight champion of the world.
So he named the boy Tyson, after the legendary boxer Mike Tyson.
Tyson’s family knows a little about boxing. His father was a bare knuckle fighter in his youth and professional champion. He has two cousins that fight professionally. One of them is the reigning WBO Middleweight Champion. His family has been boxing in England and Ireland for eight generations.
Coming from a boxing family was a big help to Tyson’s career. But that isn’t enough to make him a champion. Tyson said his success is rooted in his heritage and faith. That’s where he gets his will to win.
Tyson believed from the time he was 14 (and 6 ft tall) that he would be the world champion.
His father’s predictions were not 100% correct. Tyson only grew to 6’ 9” tall and 18 Stone.
Over the weekend Tyson defeated Wladimir Klitschko to become the unified heavyweight champion of the world. Klitschko was no pushover. The Ukranian gold medalist and former World Champion is 6’ 6” and nearly 250 pounds. Wladimir is married to Hayden Panettiere of the show Nashville.
Tyson now holds the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO Belts. He is the undisputed champion of the world.
Tyson never doubted his family or himself.
Just like Tyson Fury, your unshakeable self belief is one of the keys to your success.
We have faith in you.
