Forget the holidays...this is Value season
Most people think that the holidays are a terrible time to buy a home.
And I would have to vehemently disagree with them.
The biggest obstacle that you have to getting the most value are the other buyers who are willing to pay more for the same home.
And this group of people were highly active in Nashville for the last 10 months.
This time of year many of them are distracted from the busyness of the season to think about looking for a home. If they haven’t found what they want, most have given up until next year.
If you are a smart buyer, then you can use this advantage to save yourself a few dollars on your purchase.
You might be thinking…Isn’t this true in January and February too.
It is true that there is less buyer activity in the first two months of the year.
So why not wait until January?
Here’s the kicker.
Any serious home seller will leave their house on the market over the holidays.
And those that are serious don’t want to mess with having to keep their home “show ready” during the most wonderfully chaotic time of the year. It's just too hard with everything that goes on and they don't want to worry about the valuable presents left under the tree.
When they discover that you’ve answered their dreams by submitting an offer a few weeks before Christmas, their heart might grow three sizes.
And they will probably be less “Grinch-like” during the negotiations.
So, if you like value like I do, this is a great time to purchase a home.
And today’s deal might be the right home for you.
The Daily Deal in Nashville is a brick ranch home in West Meade that would make a great starter home or renovation and is listed for less than $260,000.
