Fall in Love with Nashville
It’s hard to believe that we are in the final days of August. What about this weather! The mornings have been so cool that I have had a sweater and light blanket over me in the early mornings while I am out on my covered deck, reading, meditating and readying myself for my yoga training. I am currently training (for the 3rd time) towards the goal of doing 108 sun salutations. This is a 6 week training program, led by my yogi, Barbara Burgess-Camardella. Six days each week, I follow her training schedule with the numbers of sun salutations increasing and the ways in which we do them changing to continually use different muscles and challenge us. The seventh day, we rest and reflect. This is in addition to the 3 yoga classes I take each week, sometimes 4! On September 22, the fall equinox, we will all get together and do our 108. I look forward to the lessons I will receive this go round, for I know there will be some and if you follow me on Facebook, you will surely read about them. If you are interested in taking great yoga classes you can come to Barbara’s classes at McCabe Community Center or East Park Community Center. I have also taken some great classes from Nick Major at McCabe Community Center, Sevier Park Community Center, Centennial Community Center and Yoga Harmony. Your local community center is a great place for exercise and at affordable prices!
Labor Day is around the corner. This will be a weekend of considerable labor for me as I am catering two weddings and have a fund raiser for Mission Discovery just 5 days later. Considerable organization is already in progress and I am ready for the challenge!
This city! I am astounded at the opportunities available in our great town. Music, art, food, festivals, fairs, running events and so much more. As I was looking at the various calendars available, I was overwhelmed with all the offerings. It was hard to decide which few to lift up, so I simply chose my favorites! That’s the beauty of blogging.
