Nashville Home Sales Remain Flat in May

According to the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors, there were 1,945 home closings reported for the month of May.  This represents a 14.3 percent decrease from the 2,270 closings reported for May 2010. Unemployment Increases to 9%, Private Sector Adds 268,000 Jobs

Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis issued the following statement on the April 2011 Employment Situation report released today: “Our nation’s labor market registered encouraging job growth in the month of April. 216,000 Jobs Created in March, Unemployment Rate at 8.8%.

Nonfarm jobs  increased by 216,000 in March, and the unemployment rate dropped slightly to 8.8 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.  Job gains occurred in professional and business services, health care, leisure and hospitality, and mining.
